UMLAND Seri Austin is Putting Smiles To The Less Fortunate
18 January 2017 - Residents of Pertubuhan Kebajikan Insan Istimewa Johor Bahru (Love Foundation) were in a pleasant surprise when UMLand Seri Austin employees volunteered their time from their desk job to spread happiness and smiles on the faces of these intellectual disabled children and adults in conjunction with the Chinese New Year celebration.
The visit started with a guided tour by Ms. Cynthia, the Home person in-charge followed by gotong-royong around the home compound to further elevate the cleanliness. A few interesting activities were conducted on that day. Some employees helped the younger children to complete a colouring sheets while others had a fun time with balloons and music. At the same time, children from the Home also performed a dance where laughter and joy was echoed around the place.
Apart from contributing RM5,000 cash, we believe that spending precious time with the children in the Home is more effective to let them feel the sense of caring from society. This is essentially equal to other contributions.
The visit to the home marked the beginning of the many charity activities which will be carried out by Seri Austin throughout the year 2017. “We will never get tired of seeing the joy on faces of recipients, especially the children. We want them to know that, they too are important members of the society”, said CEO KK Wong.
